William J. Chiappetta, President, Owner/Founder
William was born in Port Chester, New York in 1947. He earned a B.A. degree in English from the University of Dayton, Ohio in 1969. He worked a variety of jobs out of college, ending with two stints with air freight forwarders in the mid ’70’s where he gained the experience he needed to strike out on his own. He also pursued an M.B.A. at the University of Detroit during this time which provided solid business foundation skills.
Argents opened its doors in October, 1977 as a domestic freight forwarder, specializing in a personal, individualized service. Air freight then consisted of a handful of consolidators linked to airport truckers, with little thought to individual needs. A small forwarder could provide a unique service. Our clients received a call each morning, updating the status of their freight - a small service unheard of at the time. Argents excelled in next day and same day moves, pre-dating the overnight service everyone takes for granted now.
Argents has grown over the years, becoming a full service logistics company, still committed to the strong, personalized service that guided them through those first years.
Cynthia Chiappetta, Vice-President, Financial Controller
Cynthia was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1948. She earned a B.A. degree in English from the University of Dayton, Ohio 1970. In 1977, when the company opened its doors, she took on the bookkeeping right from the beginning, as well as sales. The accounting aspect has remained her focus over the years, employing a full-time staff and overseeing a dozen changes in accounting programs, as well as the initial “computerization” of the books, years ago.
Human resources, payroll, insurance, tax planning, cash flow and banking relations all fall under her scope of responsibilities. In a small business, you have the opportunity to wear many hats, and that’s just fine with her.
Dagny M. Chiappetta, Vice President of Operations / Director of International Relations and Customer Service
Dagny graduated from University of Dayton with a BA in International Business in 1995.
Dagny started her career with Argents in January 1997, handling outside sales from a satellite location in Cleveland, Ohio. As she obtained a few customers, she decided she wanted to have her own office/team to ensure the customer service levels she was selling were being met. She moved to Charleston in June of 1997 and opened the Charleston location. During this time, she not only performed much of the outside sales for the location, she also took on all requirements to run and grow a successful new office for Argents. Once the Charleston office was successful, she stepped down as Manager and had a few children while working remotely with some of our international partners. In June of 2005, she moved to our Corporate Office to assume the role of Director of International Relations and Customer Service. In 2011, she was promoted to the Vice President of Operations role. "I look forward to moving us forward in the industry, perfecting our customer service and compliance company-wide, and to growing along with our great team of professionals."
Tony Chiappetta, Managing Partner (Chicago - ORD)
After completing his Bachelor degree from Purdue University, Tony joined the Argents team in June of 2006 as the sales representative of our Charlotte branch location. Tony then transferred to Chicago in February 2009, where he became our regional sales manager at our Midwest hub location. Tony has helped to grow and expand Argents warehouse capabilities to nearly 100,000 sqft. nationwide with the addition of new clients and our Argents Fulfillment product. He was recently recognized by the WCA as a network advocate and leader in E-Commerce logistics.
Serving now as one of our Managing Partners Tony helps to oversee the direction of the company as well as looking after our international partners around the world.

Elizabeth Deaton, Station Manager / Director of Compliance / LCHB (Charleston - CHS)
Elizabeth Deaton graduated from the University of Richmond with a BA in Economics. Her career in Transportation started in Charleston with a large, neutral NVOCC, where she worked in various departments quoting rates, booking freight, preparing documentation, coordinating the loading of containers and eventually sales. While in Los Angeles as an Account Representative, she became quite interested in the role of the freight forwarder.
She went to work for a medium-sized domestic/air freight forwarder who was looking to start up an ocean freight division. As the company grew and the ocean export division took off, her role expanded to Director of Training & Quality Assurance, overseeing customer service and quality control for all product lines. This role involved working with all of the offices nationwide as well as meeting agents/partners and customers overseas to develop business.
After many years in California, she returned to Charleston to raise her family. Seeking to work with a customer service driven forwarding company, her search lead her to Argents Express Group. She is a licensed customs broker who is active with the local chapter of the Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association.
Adam Sneed, Director of West Coast Operations & Sales
Adam graduated from Appalachian State University with a BSBA in Business Management with a focus on International Business. Shortly after graduation, he moved to Charleston, SC to begin his career in the logistics industry, working for one of the largest steamship lines in the world.
After working on the ocean side of things for nearly three years, gaining experience in several different departments, Adam accepted a position with Argents Express in the Air Export Department. In 2012, he was promoted to Operations Supervisor for the Charleston office, overseeing both office and warehouse operations on a day to day basis.
In June 2016, Adam relocated to Seattle, WA to open a new branch office/warehouse, expanding Argents’ footprint to the West Coast.
Henry Rebmann, Financial Controller
Forged from the concrete jungle currently standing as New Jersey, an accounting machine rose to the occasion mastering one responsibility after the next, decimating collections, improving cash flow, limiting cost exposure, and driving results. Standing strong with an economics background from the daunting and cruel state university named Rutgers, Henry persevered into the light and traveled south where his inner drive moved him to claim land and provide a long standing estates to raise an heir with his Italian princess by his side. With a great and powerful team to support him and his fellow colleagues, we prevail through each feat of strength that unfolds to impact the industry and grow to our fullest potential as Argents Express Group.
Tom Maglio, Director of Domestic Operations
Tom began working for Argents on January 26, 1996, as local P & D driver. During this position, he also participated & assisted with Domestic operations for approximate 3 years. With gained experience, he was promoted to office position assisting with Domestic operations team in customer service, dispatch, shipment routing, & computer data entry in cargo wise system.Through course of 10 years in operations, he has also been involved with warehouse logistics handling large customer account of Medical Rehabilitation products.
Projects included excel programming, spreadsheets, inventory, etc. He has also been involved & has many years experience with container loading of all types of freight materials including specialized blocking & bracing insuring secure & safety transport of export goods. With Tom's level of experience & dedication with the company, he was promoted to Domestic Director & Warehouse Logistics Manager overseeing Domestic customer service, warehouse staff, & driver fleet also ensuring operations & drivers maintaining awareness of TSA guidelines.
Tom's service is second to none and he continues to be a leader in the company for exemplary customer service to our clients.
